Bonefire Night |

|
As Bonfire Night approaches, we want everyone in Daneshouse and Stoneyholme to enjoy the celebrations safely, responsibly and with consideration for others. Where possible, we encourage residents to attend organised firework displays, for example at Towneley Park and other licensed venues across Lancashire. Organised events provide a safe environment for families and reduce the risk of injury, fire and anti-social behaviour. If you are planning to use fireworks at home, please remember: • You must be 18 years or over to purchase adult fireworks. We know Bonfire Night can sometimes attract groups of young people gathering in public spaces. While most gatherings are harmless, anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated. If you are involved with a group committing acts such as throwing fireworks, setting deliberate fires, causing criminal damage, intimidating residents or creating disorder, you may be dealt with by police. You do not need to be the person lighting the firework to become involved in an incident or face consequences for your actions. Parents and carers are encouraged to speak with their children about the dangers of fireworks and the impact anti-social behaviour can have on the wider community. Fireworks are explosives and can cause serious and life-changing injuries when used incorrectly. Please help us make this year's Bonfire Night a safe and enjoyable occasion for everyone. By celebrating responsibly and looking out for one another, we can ensure our communities remain safe and welcoming throughout the festivities. Have a safe and enjoyable Bonfire Night.
